Supervision details
I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and supervisor. I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP (accred). I have attained a Post Graduate level 7 certificate in supervision. I work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (2018). My way of being with you reflects my personal development alongside my counselling and supervision training. I describe my approach as experiential, combined with an assimilative integration theoretical framework. The person-centred modality predominantly supports my understanding of myself, supervisees and clients. However, I also have experience and understanding of a range of other theoretical modalities, approaches and principles from the counselling and psychotherapy professions. As a supervisor, I use the 7-eyed supervision modal as a theoretical framework when working with you in supervision (Hawkins & Shohet, 2020).
- My aim is to focus on supporting your professional/personal development, ethical practice, and reflexivity in a safe, consistent, respectful and collaborative space.
- Our work together will ensure the safety of your clients and yourself.
- I hope to encourage confidence and increase competence through continual promotion of best practice in your counselling and psychotherapy work.
- Our working alliance can also serve as a learning and educative environment.
- I hope to be respectful, welcoming and attentive to cultural and diversity differences in the working relationship triad of supervisor-supervisee-client(s).
I also hold an extensive professional work history spanning 13 years in supporting vulnerable people therapeutically with their mental health and wellbeing recovery. Which has included social housing support, homelessness and mental health crisis services.
The session fee for supervision is set at £60 for a duration of 60 minutes.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
