Supervision details
I offer supervision to Counsellors and Psychotherapists, who may be in training, newly qualified or more experienced practitioners. I also work with other health and well being professionals.
From my personal experience, I know that when I go for supervision, I am seeking a safe and supportive space where I can be in a relationship of trust and openness with my supervisor. I want to explore my client work in a collaborative and co-creative way. I want to learn and grow both professionally and personally. At times I need to share the ‘burden’ of holding challenging client work with someone who validates and encourages my work so that my capacity is replenished. I need somewhere where I can check out my blind spots and be accountable in my ongoing journey, including good self care. Some of this may resonate with you and you may be looking for other things too.
I have been in supervisory role with different health care and well being professionals over the years, first training with Robin Shohet who co-created the Seven eyed model of supervision some 20 years ago. I am ensuring that my knowledge remains current with a Certificate in Supervision at Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy.
I am an accredited BACP registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist and abide by their code of ethics.
I have my own private practice with special interests in trauma, loss and bereavement, neurodiversity, high sensitivity, relationship therapy and psychospiritual development.
If you are interested in working together we can arrange an exploratory meeting on Zoom, free of charge.
My fees are £60 for 60 minute session.
90 minute sessions and reduction for therapists in training by arrangement.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
