Supervision details
I am an experienced Counselling Psychologist with a background in the NHS and charity sector and for the past six years, in private psychotherapy practice. I have assisted in the supervision of Doctoral research and have many years of co-facilitating peer supervision groups.
I take a pluralistic approach to therapy and supervision, that is, the understanding that different approaches are useful for different people at different times. My own client work is informed by existential, psychodynamic and compassion-focused models, however as a therapist I have enjoyed being supervised by colleagues working with different modalities. I believe this 'cross-pollination' of ideas provides fertile ground for professional growth and development.
Colleagues I have worked with in supervision settings have described me as warm, empathic, curious and gently challenging. As a supervisor I aim to offer a containing, reflective space where together we can attend to whatever might be arising in your client work as well as your own self-care and professional development needs.
I am currently undergoing further supervision training with CSTD (Centre for Supervision and Training Development), working with the Seven-Eyed-Model of Supervision. During my training period I am offering supervision sessions at a reduced rate. I receive supervision-for-supervision to support this work.
British Psychological Society
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
