Supervision details

Hello,

I'm Hannah, a clinical psychologist offering online supervision for practitioners in private practice. Full disclosure, this is my first foray into officially supervising others, though I have had much experience of peer-supervision over my 10 year career and it has been suggested by a few colleagues that I should start offering 1:1 supervision.

I love helping others learn and grow and my aim is to empower others to feel confident and competent. Clinically I work integratively, but tend to favour drawing on compassion-focused, polyvagal, and attachment-focused ways of working. I'm a couples counsellor (though I'm not supervising in this) so draw on emotionally focused therapy throughout my work. My approach strikes a balance between structured and exploratory work. With most clients, I will offer psychoeducation, strategies and techniques to help clients in their everyday experience of suffering. Alongside this, I very much value making space for clients' experiences without pushing for solutions, holding their suffering with compassion and empathy, and understanding and processing the root causes of their distress.

As a supervisor, my aim would be to assist you in whatever dilemmas or clients you're bringing to discuss. In my own supervision, I value a space to discuss client issues, think about how or why an issue might be causing a certain reaction in me, think about where the work could go next and learn new ways of working. This is something I would like to offer you. A big passion of mine is helping people feel confident in their choice to go into private practice. I'm happy to think through how it can feel to take the leap into private work if you are new to the field and it's helpful.

My preferred style of working is without too many limits - shifting and drawing on different models according to where the work needs to go and not imposing strict time-limits on the number of sessions I offer. My aim is to help clients move on from therapy confidently, rather than because of an idea in my head about how long or short therapy "should" be. For that reason, I probably wouldn't be the best suited to someone who likes to work in a very manualised way, or who does very short-term interventions.

I work online only. Though I can help guide you in safeguarding decisions, I would not be suitable for someone with high risk clients or clients who have been in secondary care.

If you want to get in touch for a chat to see if we're the right fit, send me an email and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. I have availability in the UK weekday evening-times. 50 minute sessions are £75.
