Information about my Supervision (Holistic & Grounded)

Sustainability and Softness in Practice

The work of a caring professional is rewarding, but day-on-day exposure to high-pressure environments can lead to deep exhaustion. I offer a supervisory space that prioritises your sustainability, helping you stay in the work without losing yourself.

My Approach: Theoretical Depth & The Seven-Eyed Model

I use the Seven-Eyed Model of supervision to ensure our work is clinically robust and covers the full complexity of the therapeutic map. My practice is deeply rooted in Petrūska Clarkson's framework, specifically the "Restorative" element. This theoretical stance provides a solid foundation for a holistic approach to supervision.

Supervision as a Lifeline

I know from my own journey through burnout, which I have written about for "Therapy Today", that supervision is a vital lifeline. I maintained my own supervision even during my time away from clinical practice because it provided the steady relationship I needed to navigate my way back. I offer that same restorative, mentoring support to you, ensuring you feel held as a whole person, not just a practitioner.

Individual and Group Supervision:

I offer both 1:1 and group supervision. Group sessions are a powerful way to reduce isolation of the "cost of caring" and provide a more cost-effective option for colleagues or teams who wish to come together for support.

Who I work with:

  • Therapists: Navigating vicarious trauma and private practice.
  • Front-line Professionals: Paramedics, nurses, and emergency responders.
  • Caring Professionals: Social workers, educators, and those in "helping" roles.
BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
