Supervision details
My way of offering supervision is rooted in person-centred approach, with the supervisory relationship at the heart of the work. I believe supervision is most effective when there is trust, openness, and genuine collaboration, creating a space where you feel supported, challenged, and able to reflect honestly on your practice.
While Person-Centred in foundation, I work integratively, drawing on experiential and CBT where helpful. My supervision is informed by Hawkins and Shohet's Seven-Eyed Model, which provides a framework for exploring not only the client and the therapeutic relationship, but also your internal process, the supervisory relationship, and the wider systems that influence the work. This enables supervision to be tailored to your individual needs while supporting both your clinical practice and professional development.
I have a strong belief in the importance of the personal development of the counsellor. Supervision provides an opportunity not only to support your clients effectively but also to deepen your understanding of yourself and the impact you have within the therapeutic relationship. I find it a genuine privilege to work alongside supervisees and gain great fulfilment from supporting counsellors in their professional growth.
As a qualified psychotherapist with over ten years of experience, I have provided counselling & Psychotherapy across a range of settings, including the third sector, education, private practice, and children and young people. Alongside my clinical work, I am a Course Lead in counselling, teaching and supporting learners from Level 2 through to Level 4 training, helping to develop the next generation of counsellors.
Finding the right supervisor is about more than qualifications and experience; it is about finding someone with whom you can build a meaningful professional relationship. The connection between supervisor and supervisee is integral to the process. For this reason, I offer a free 30-minute introductory session, giving us the opportunity to meet, discuss your needs, and explore whether we are the right fit to work together. If my approach resonates with you, I would be delighted to hear from you.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
