Supervision details
Clinical Supervision
I am a qualified clinical supervisor offering supervision face-to-face and online to trainee counsellors, experienced practitioners, and professionals who require external supervision as part of their role.
My approach to supervision is relational, reflective, and supportive, grounded in the belief that effective supervision offers more than case discussion alone. I work primarily within the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, as it allows space to explore all aspects of the therapeutic work — including the client’s process, the therapeutic relationship, the practitioner’s internal experience, and the wider organisational and ethical context.
Supervision with me provides a safe, thoughtful space to reflect on clinical work with curiosity and care. I aim to support supervisees to deepen self-awareness, strengthen ethical practice, and feel more grounded and confident in their professional role. Whether you are in training or have many years of experience, supervision is paced to meet you where you are.
I work full-time in private practice and currently offer supervision to practitioners working with adults and teenagers. My original training is in Person-Centred Counselling, and my practice is integrative, informed by training and experience in CBT, mindfulness-based approaches, and coaching. This allows flexibility while remaining rooted in relational depth and emotional safety.
Alongside my clinical work, I am a qualified lecturer and previously worked in Further Education, teaching Health and Social Care. This background supports my work with trainee counsellors and professionals who are balancing learning, responsibility, and practice development.
I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation, which gives us the opportunity to explore your needs, expectations, and whether my supervision style feels like a good fit for you. There is no obligation to continue unless you feel comfortable and supported.
If you would like to arrange an initial conversation, don't hesitate to get in touch with me on 07766 493437 or email me at shawlifecounselling@gmail.com
I look forward to hearing from you.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
