Supervision details

My Therapeutic and Supervisory Approach
I am a relational and integrative counsellor and supervisor, with experience working across a range of settings including the NHS, education, and private practice. This breadth of experience has shaped a flexible, thoughtful approach to both therapy and supervision, informed by the realities of clinical work in different contexts.

My clinical background is rooted in trauma informed practice, attachment theory, and relational psychotherapy. I have worked extensively with presentations including trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, OCD, and issues relating to gender, sexuality, and identity. Rather than working solely at the level of symptoms, I am interested in understanding how difficulties develop within relational, developmental, and systemic contexts.

As a neurodivergent practitioner, I am committed to offering an inclusive and responsive space that recognises difference, power, and lived experience. My work is grounded in the belief that our sense of self, emotional regulation, and ways of relating are profoundly shaped by early relationships, and that change occurs through new relational experiences that feel safe, attuned, and meaningful.

This understanding informs both my therapeutic and supervisory work. I see the relational space itself as central, a place where patterns can be noticed, reflected upon, and thoughtfully worked with, rather than corrected or managed.

My core training includes a BSc in Therapeutic Counselling, grounded in a relational and integrative framework. I am currently completing an MSc in Psychology, with my dissertation exploring the long term psychological impact of emotional abuse on adult sons by narcissistic mothers.

My Approach to Supervision
I understand supervision to be a relational, reflective, and developmental process. As in therapy, the quality of the supervisory relationship is central. My aim is to create a space that feels secure, collaborative, and psychologically safe, where you can bring your work openly and honestly.

I recognise that supervision can feel exposing at times. It is common for therapists to worry about being judged, particularly when discussing moments of uncertainty, boundary tensions, or work that has felt challenging or unsettling. These moments are not signs of failure, but essential aspects of professional growth.

In our work together, I aim to meet you with curiosity, respect, and empathy, while also offering thoughtful challenge where this supports your development. I will encourage reflective thinking about your client work, your use of self, and the relational dynamics that emerge within therapy, always with an awareness of context, ethics, and professional responsibility.

Alongside clinical reflection, I hold supervision as a space to consider your wider professional journey, including confidence, identity, sustainability, and the impact of the work on you as a practitioner.

I recognise that each supervisee brings their own experience, needs, and stage of development. I work collaboratively and flexibly, adapting supervision to support your learning style, clinical context, and professional goals.

My supervisory work is informed by the Seven Eyed Model of supervision, which supports exploration of the client, therapist, relationship, supervisor, and wider systems in a structured yet flexible way.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
