Supervision details
I have 25 years experience of working in Mental Health Services across the NHS and voluntary sector. From 2017-2025 I was employed as Senior Manager, Staff Counsellor, Supervisor, and Trainer for a local Counselling Charity. I was employed as a Young Persons' Counsellor with Bupa Healthcare in November 2025, and I now work as a Lead Therapist for Bupa, carrying a caseload of clients as well as providing input to the Remote Counselling Leadership Team, supporting/supervising their Young Persons' and Adult Counsellors. I also run a thriving private practice from my home in Aboyne.
I am a qualified experienced Person-Centred Counsellor currently working with young people (aged 16+), adults, couples and families online, in-person and on the phone (please see my Counselling Directory therapist profile for more info).
In 2020 I completed a Certificate in Clinical Supervision, consolidating and building on my knowledge and experience. During the Coronavirus Pandemic I did the majority of my counselling and supervision work via web-based video/phone and completed Certificate-level training in remote counselling. I still work "remotely" with clients and supervisees who request it.
I'm now pleased to be able to offer Person-Centred Supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists. My hope in my practice with supervisees is that we'll build a relationship of mutual trust and respect which will allow you to share yourself and your work with me, so that I can support you in your practice. I endeavour to facilitate reflection and reflexivity, leading to a deeper understanding of yourself and your process with clients. I am very happy to offer a free session for us to get to know each other before we decide to go forward with regular meetings.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
