Supervision details

THE WAY I WORK IN SUPERVISION

My supervision work is based on an integrative approach and is underpinned by a range of different supervision models some of which include Hawkins & Shohet, Inskipp & Proctor. I am able to adapt to the supervisee and/or the client work that is being presented to me, which may also include creative ways of working. I aim to bring an open and honest discussion that will allow you to bring your successes and mistakes in a safe environment. I have experience Supervising counsellors working with adults and/or young people.

MY BACKGROUND

I have been qualified as a counsellor since 2015 and worked in private practice since then. I have also practiced within a voluntary capacity for a range of different organisations which include a charity that supported carers, a charity that supported people that were bereaved due to family or friends who died from life-limiting conditions/illness and also counselling in a secondary school. My working career also saw me working in some charities managing volunteers that were providing emotional support services in different settings. This would include face to face support in a one to one or group situations and also support over the phone or through online methods such as online chat or online video. This work over the years provided me experience working with people that were offered support for their mental health over the phone and the steps to take if those people needed intervention to reduce the feeling of suicide. This service was provided by volunteers who I trained and supervised in groups and as individuals.

VOLUNTEER SUPERVISION

In other areas of my work I was supporting people that were living with a life-limiting condition/illness and had a prognosis of less than 12 months. I supported people accessing the service themselves and supervised volunteers on an individual basis but also in groups supporting their needs around the voluntary work they did. I have supervised and managed volunteers that supported people emotionally at Coroners’ Courts across the South West of England. This role found me supporting, training and supervising volunteers that would provide the emotional support to those people that needed to attend court. The people that they were supporting may have gone through a traumatic event and may be coping with the effects of that but also possible grief being extended due to the period of time before the inquest can be held.

EXPERIENCE IN OTHER SECTORS

My varied career before retraining to become a counsellor and supervisor gave me experience in hospitality and catering to management level, working for construction companies in the highways industry dealing with incidents on the UK road networks and also working in an education system for a private boarding school supporting young people with different conditions for instance neurodivergent include Autistic Spectrum disorder.

ONLINE SUPERVISION

I have been working online for a few years now even pre-pandemic and I am happy to work with you online if this is your preferred method or due to circumstances.

FACE TO FACE (F2F) SUPERVISION IN SOMERSET

I am able to provide F2F supervision in my counselling room in Somerset if you would prefer to work in this way. I can provide further details if you have any questions.

GROUP SUPERVISION

If you are looking for group supervision, then please do contact me to discuss what you are looking for. I could provide online group supervision or can travel locally to provide group supervision in a setting that is appropriate.

FEES

The current fee for 1 hour is 50 pounds and for 1.5 hours is 70 pounds.

Any discussions outside of the contracted supervision session that becomes 30mins or more will have a fee of an hourly sessional rate in 30min increments. For an example if the call takes up to 30mins this won't be charged but if the call goes over 30mins e.g. 40mins the charge will be a 30min increment.

If you are studying/working and require written feedback for an organisation or educational establishment I can provide this but I will require adequate notice for this to be completed in my schedule and I will let you know how long this may take.  If you are studying as a counselling student and you are paying for the full supervision fee then we can discuss a reduced fee for these situations.

Group Supervision Fees: Please contact me to discuss what you are looking for and the current costs.

HOW TO CONTACT ME

If you would like to discuss more with me then please contact me by phone, email or Whatsapp. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have before arranging a supervision session.  I am happy to have a first supervision session with you and determine whether we are both happy to work together before committing to further supervision sessions.

I can offer a short introductory phone/video call to see if we are able to work together, please ask if you would like this.
