Supervision details
I am able to offer supervision to clinical or counselling psychologists, psychotherapists and counsellors. I am a specialist in trauma related presentations and I am trained in EMDR and CAT (though working towards being able to supervise for trainees in those models I am not yet able to offer accredited supervision for these approaches but would usually interest aspects of this into supervision where the trainee is interested, particularly resourcing and CAT formulation). I am an experienced supervisor having provided this in the NHS and in private practice. I supervise psychologists working in private practice and in NHS team settings including inpatient, psychosis and community teams. I engage in CPD to update supervisory skills and have undertaken a supervisor training programme with the local university DClinPsy programme which is accredited by the BPS. I have also provided 1:1 supervision and reflective practice / group supervision for organisations including local authority, third sector and charities.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
