Clinical Supervision: Empowering Excellence in Practice
As a Qualified Clinical Supervisor, I provide a robust, supportive, and ethically grounded space for therapists to refine their craft and safeguard their well-being. Supervision is the cornerstone of professional practice; it is not merely a clinical requirement, but a vital partnership that ensures both the safety of the client and the growth of the practitioner.
I work with a diverse range of professionals, offering tailored 1-to-1 or group supervision for:
- Generalist Counsellors: Supporting you in navigating the complexities of everyday practice and professional development.
- Children & Young People’s Therapists: Providing specialized oversight for the unique ethical and developmental challenges of working with clients aged 16 and under.
- Specialist Addiction & Trauma Therapists: Leveraging my 13 years of frontline experience to help you manage high-intensity caseloads, prevent secondary trauma, and master specialist interventions.
What My Supervision Provides:
- Clinical Governance & Safety: Ensuring your practice remains aligned with ethical frameworks (such as the BACP Ethical Framework) and safeguarding the welfare of your clients.
- Reflective Development: A space to explore the "why" behind your interventions, helping you gain deeper insight into the therapeutic relationship and counter-transference.
- Specialist Insight: Drawing on my deep expertise in addiction recovery, family dynamics, and trauma-informed care to enhance your work with complex cases.
- Restorative Support: In an era of high burnout, I provide a space to process the emotional impact of your work, ensuring you remain resilient and effective for the long term.
Whether you are a private practitioner or an agency looking for group supervision, I provide a quality of oversight that meets the highest professional standards. Sessions are available face-to-face in Chelmsford and Manningtree (Mistley Quays), or remotely via Zoom.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
