Supervision details

I am currently working towards accreditation with the Gestalt centre in London which will be complete in June. Until then I will be offering supervision sessions at a discounted rate. I have over 20 years experience working in therapeutic, environments using CBT, ACT, DBT and motivational interviewing, supporting goal setting and care planning. As an integrative, trauma integrated therapist, I've been running a successful private practice now for 10 years. In addition, I have provided consultation for staff in the care sector.

This experience, alongside additional training, natural empathy and theoretical knowledge, means I provide a supportive learning environment for the individuals I work with. Gestalt training focuses on the here and now, looking at somatic enquiry, parallel processes and transference/ countertransference as it enters the relationship. This helps to deepen our knowledge and understanding of clients and our reactions to them.

Having worked in high stress environments, I am enthusiastic about practitioner wellbeing and reducing compassion fatigue. During the supervision process, we will endeavour to explore practices to support staying well and protecting self against vicarious trauma.

In addition to supervision and counselling training I have been a mindfulness practitioner, running a 12 week programme in rehabilitation settings, I've have training in creative therapies and eco psychology and hold in mind clients/ participants within their systems. I employ the seven-eyed model of supervision (Hawkins and Shohet), which takes into account the wider content of what may be having an impact on the client/ supervisor. This includes culture, working environments, diversity, client supervisor relationship, wider environment in addition to the client and what they present.

As a registered therapist with UKCP and member of BACP I adhere to the ethical requirements of both organisations.
