Supervision details
I believe supervision should be a safe space to think through new ideas, grapple with dilemmas, develop new skills, be creative and learn from mistakes/ difficult situations. My approach is shaped by my own values around collaboration, compassion and integrity alongside the supervision approaches I have personally found helpful as a clinician throughout the years.
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist for nearly 22 years initially in the NHS in various CAMHS teams and then in independent practice since 2017. In my last NHS role I worked as Lead Psychologist and Professional Lead for Psychology and Psychotherapy. I have provided clinical and professional supervision to professionals with different levels of experience, a range of clinical training and backgrounds.
I am passionate about working in a way that is client centred and empowering. My areas of specialism are child and adolescent mental health, particularly teens struggling with low mood and anxiety, autism and mental health and parenting.
The main therapeutic models I use include ACT, CBT and systemic frameworks. I have a postgraduate diploma in Systemic Practice with Families and Couples and a postgraduate certificate in CYP-IAPT Supervision
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
