Supervision details

I offer established counsellors, newly qualified and trainee counsellors a supportive and encouraging environment to consider their work and flourish in their environment. Being a therapist is a demanding role and supervision offers a place to land and reflect.

My session fees are £60 for 1 hr and  £75 for 1.5hrs.

Trainee/Newly Qualified Counsellors: If you are a trainee or newly qualified therapist, I can actively support you in preparing for private practice with all the elements needed to create a professional, ethical and beneficial environment for your clients.  I will also provide you with tools and understanding to support you in maximising learning, business potential and a future pathway to building your hours and experience -  leading to BACP accreditation.

Experienced Therapists: I work with experienced therapists aligning with their personal goals. My aim is to create an alliance within a motivational and creative space to support growth and learning; awareness; maintaining ethics and good practice. I hope you would find supervision with me both enjoyable and motivating.

Humanistic Modalities and Specialisms/Experience: I am a fully trained and diploma-qualified supervisor working within the humanistic modalities - my background being Transactional Analysis, Gestalt therapy, & person-centred therapy.

Additional specialisms include:

1.    Relationship and couple work

2.    Gestalt therapy and creative ideas for supporting clients

3.    Transactional Analysis frameworks and tools for contracting, boundaries, couple work and exploration

4.    Short-term, solution-focussed work (including EAP, corporate and business employee support)

5.    Schema Therapy

6.    ACOA (adult children of alcoholics/addicts) / addiction and self-harm

Ethics and On-Going CPD:

I work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework but some of my supervisees work to NCS standards and I am conversant with both. Understanding the ethical responsibilities we hold as therapists is an important part of supervision.

I will support you in your on-going knowledge of good practice, CPD and ethics - whether you are new to therapy practice or an established counsellor. You will find me warm, welcoming and engaged with your process and practice.

Registration and the First Supervision Session:

Prior to the first session, I ask you to outline your modalities and experience and to consider what you would like to achieve in your personal supervision.  My aim is to ensure your goals are kept front of mind.  During your first session we review your current client workload and your experience of supervision to date.  Hopefully you will find the supervisory relationship both supportive and motivating for your career.

Please call me on 07973 909109 or email: markwickcounselling@gmail.com to register your interest and we can discuss your needs for supervision. There is further information at: https://www.markwickcounselling.com/supervision

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
