Supervision details
My role as a supervisor is to support you with your clinical work which I feel is very important as counselling and psychotherapy is a notoriously lonely profession where feeling isolated at times is all too common. The aim of having regular clinical supervision is to maintain ethical standards and professionalism ensuring you as a counsellor/psychotherapist are working at your best standards with your clients.
My supervision model is relational which means building a trusting working relationship together where nurture and self-growth is encouraged creating a safe environment where you feel fully supported in your work and therapeutic journey.
I believe that supervision is more than just about supporting you with your client work and as such I always encourage you to have an open discussion in each session about any topics related to your work as a therapist. This could be a personal trigger event you may have felt after a recent session with a client or about some specific research around a topic related to a client case or maybe there are some challenging issues affecting your personal life such as a recent bereavement or a relationship breakdown which could be effecting your therapy work.
During supervision I will try to make you feel grounded and safe and I will invite you to bring whatever you need to discuss to each session. From time to time I may ask you about a particular client you are working with if I feel there is something relevant to discuss such as safeguarding or risk awareness, otherwise I will trust you to bring whatever you need to discuss. I believe in nurturing self-autonomy in each of my supervisees and developing a robust nature and a willingness to explore any potential blind spots that may arise during client work.
One of the more important aspects of my role as a supervisor is recognising the early signs of clinical burnout such as feeling overloaded, depressive symptoms like fatigue, sadness, a decline in empathy towards the client or a loss of interest. Managing this effectively is key to working ethically,
I will support you in managing and developing ethical standards, record keeping, being GDPR compliant, having an up to date client contract and feeling comfortable keeping firm boundaries in and around your client work.
Fees: Qualified therapists £50 per 45 mins or £100 per 90 mins. Trainee therapists reduced rate £35 per 45 mins or £70 per 90 mins.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
