Supervision details

I provide a warm, non judgemental space for you to explore and reflect upon your working practice. I support mutual open sharing to build trust, mindful of how vulnerable it is sometimes to speak of our processes of thinking, feeling and action in relation to our client work. Drawing upon personal philosophical and theoretical models that define how and why you work the way you do can be a very important means by which a sense of self-efficacy and confidence can continue to evolve and deepen in our professional role. This might be part of our work together, as these pillars may also change over time through our experiences. It is my fundamental belief that like being human, the role of counsellor gives each of us the privilege and rich opportunities for a life time of growth and learning. Along side exploration of client work, the space is also here to delve into emerging themes of counselling practice you are interested in. Here opportunities to be both creative and playful are welcomed. This is first and foremost a place for you to be you.

I offer 60 or 90 minute sessions on a fortnightly or monthly basis (£50 and £75 respectively). I offer a free 50 minute consultation session for you to meet me in person or online to get a sense of how I work.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
