Supervision details
Hi there, I am a CPCAB level 6 qualified Supervisor and work both online and face to face. I am able to draw on my experience from many years working as a counsellor and psychotherapist in organisations (Place2be, Relate & Impact) and in private practice with clients in primary & senior schools, referred through EAP's, Social Care, Work-related Health care organisations & with private individuals aged from 5 years upwards. I also work with couples. As a Supervisor, I aim to work in ways that support, guide and challenge you at whatever level you're working at to hopefully enable you to feel confident through any difficult patches (which we all have!) and grow within your own counselling role. I ask that all my supervisees are affiliated to an overarching recognised counselling body (e.g. BACP, UKCP, NCPS, BPS). Thank you.
I am able to support Supervisors in most modalities as I use an integrative approach with Person-Centred core values and I draw from Psychoanalytic & TA theory and psychological developmental processes, in particular where a person may have become stuck. I also have a basic knowledge of CBT.
Training & Qualifications: I have an MA in children and young people's counselling (Person-Centred training), a PGrad Certificate in advanced counselling practice, NHS, Tavistock training in Psychoanalytic Observational Studies & a degree in Psychology. I am also a BACP accredited counsellor with over 10 years of counselling experience and am trained and experienced in working with adults & couples. My fees are £55 per hour or £75 for 1.5 hours but concessions can be negotiated if you are a trainee *subject to availability.
Thanks for looking. Please feel free to give me a call for an informal chat.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
