Supervision details
I welcome you to my profile and would like to share with you how supervision with me could support your clinical practice. I am an accredited Counselling Psychotherapist with the BACP and I practice using a Relational, Integrative framework which includes Person-Centred theory, CBT and TA amongst others. I am a qualified Internal Family System's (IFS) therapist (Level 2) and I have a passion for normalising the concept of multiplicity and recognising we are all made up of many 'parts' that can be witnessed and understood to promote healing. Person Centred practices term this phenomenon 'Configurations of Self' and, as you may already be aware, different language is often used to describe the same or similar process amongst the varying models. Understanding your 'parts' and internal responses towards your clients process and their 'parts', I feel, is a key focus in supervision. I have a particular interest in understanding trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, neurotypes, and shame as well as other debilitating emotions and experiences.
I have worked in private practice since 2015 and alongside this, I have a part time lecturing role at Leeds Beckett University supporting prospective Psychotherapists.
Finding the right supervisor is important, not only for your personal and professional development but to feel supported with your clinical decisions and therapeutic relationships, that I know can feel lonely and challenging at times. Ultimately, the overall aim is for you and your clients to progress through their challenges safely and successfully and I vow to create a safe environment to facilitate these explorations.
The supervision approach that I have trained in is the 7-Eyed Model and this relational, systematic approach will allow us to both understand and navigate the complex dynamics that are often experienced in therapeutic relationships. My supervision training qualifies me specifically to supervise the work with your clients which is delivered online or over the telephone as well as in-person. I have extensive knowledge and experience of the nuances around remote working practices.
The cost of supervision with me is £55 per hour or £80 per 1.5 hours.
I warmly invite you to reach out to me and, if you wish, we can arrange to meet online via Zoom, or in person for an informal discussion before deciding if you wish to engage.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
