Supervision details
Hello, I am Laura, I have been qualified since 2014 and I am a Humanistic counsellor, which means that I come from a place of believing that any issues you are currently facing can affect your whole existence. I work in a way that respects your freedom and choice and focuses on how you are feeling in the here and now, whilst also understanding that the past and future are a part of your existence I practise the 7 eyed model of supervision and will be mapping my supervision to the BACP ethical framework. Finding the right supervisor for your practice can feel daunting to find the best fit for your work. I hope to be able to offer you a safe and supportive space where I can work with you to support you, your clients and to encourage your personal growth and development. I welcome you what ever stage you are within your counselling journey from at the start as a student counsellor in placement, to being in practise within an organisation or working in private practice. I have experience as a Counselling Co-ordinator for a charity so understand the demands and processes needed for you to fulfil your volunteer role. I have also had my own private practice since I qualified. I offer a free 25 minute, telephone or online consultation to see if you feel comfortable with me as a supervisor. Supervision is an investment in you and your practice and you deserve to choose someone that suits you. I look forward to hearing from you.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
