Supervision details

I am a fully accredited BACP counsellor with over 13 years’ experience working with adolescents and adults across a wide range of mental health presentations, including trauma, OCD, personality difficulties, dissociation, chronic illness and emotional wellbeing. Alongside my therapeutic work, I offer clinical supervision to both trainee and qualified counsellors.

My approach to supervision is pluralistic, recognising that there is no single therapeutic model that is right for every client or every therapist. I believe supervision works best as a collaborative relationship where we can openly reflect on your clinical work, celebrate strengths, explore challenges and think creatively about how best to support your clients. Rather than encouraging you to work within one specific modality, I aim to help you develop confidence in your own therapeutic style while drawing on a range of evidence-based approaches where appropriate.

I particularly welcome supervisees who work integratively or are still developing their therapeutic identity. I believe supervision should provide a space to explore ideas, question assumptions and develop confidence in your own clinical judgement, rather than feeling pressured to work in a particular way. My role is not to tell you how to practise, but to support you in becoming the therapist you want to be while maintaining safe, ethical and effective practice.

Creating a safe, respectful and non-judgemental supervisory relationship is central to my practice. I understand that bringing uncertainty, mistakes or difficult feelings into supervision can feel exposing, so I strive to offer a space where curiosity is valued over criticism. Alongside restorative support, I also believe effective supervision should provide thoughtful challenge, encouraging reflection, ethical awareness and ongoing professional development.

My own practice integrates counselling, EMDR, CBT techniques, Compassion Focused Therapy, DBT-informed skills, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Analytic Therapy, NLP and coaching principles. This breadth of experience allows us to consider cases from different perspectives while always remaining focused on the individual client, the therapeutic relationship and your development as a practitioner.

Whether you are newly qualified, an experienced practitioner or currently completing your training, I aim to provide supervision that is collaborative, reflective and tailored to your individual learning needs. My goal is for you to leave supervision feeling supported, appropriately challenged and increasingly confident in your own practice.

Supervision is available online, with daytime appointments.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
