Supervision details
As a Clinical Supervisor
I work with NHS staff, Psychotherapist, Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates (IDSVA’s) and trainee counsellors and psychotherapists. During supervision we may focus on your well-being, ethical dilemmas/considerations and what might be playing out in the client/counsellor relationship or with other stakeholder. My supervision practice centres around the 7-eyed-model. This explores the following…
- Focus on the client and their presentation
- Exploration of supervisee interventions
- Focus on the client/supervisee relationship (projection and transference)
- Focus on the supervisee (projection and transference)
- Focus on the supervisory relationship
- Focus on the supervisor and their own process
Focus on the wider context in which the work occurs
Trainee Counsellors/Psychotherapists
Teaching on a level 3 and 4 Counselling Course I am aware of the pressures associated with finding a placement, participating in therapy, completing assignments, portfolios and a research piece. It can all feel all too much at times. Having personally completed three counselling courses I have been frequently reminded of the fine balance that is needed between our own personal and professional life and the ongoing commitment of completing a counselling course. A counselling course comes with a personal journey in addition to the above and this can feel intense at times.
Managing that final year of your studies can feel overwhelming and sometimes impossible. I am here to help you transition from skills practice into the reality of delivering counselling sessions and support you with your well-being and self-care as you hold all this together. I can support you with your assignments, portfolios and research piece as we work around the modality you are being taught in. As a supervisor my role is to guide you through this process and encourage you find the ethical counsellor within you.
As a trainer
My role as a Trainer has derived from leading on two projects in 2019 associated with Adverse Childhood Experiences, developing two counselling services after identifying gaps in services and by Teaching experience. I am currently a Consultant Associate for Dr Warren Larkin & Associates. My role entails delivering training to NHS, charities, local councils and Premier League Footballs Clubs. The training packages I deliver are ‘The Routine Enquiry for Adversity in Childhood’, Trauma Informed Care, Therapeutic Skills and Train the Trainer. https://warrenlarkinassociates.co.uk.
My teachings and experience continue to influence and shape my therapy and supervision practice and keep me up to date with recent research and developments in the field of trauma, trauma informed practice and therapy.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
