Supervision details

Hello trainee and qualified counsellors.

Counselling can be quite a demanding and lonely profession, therefore a courageous and wholehearted supervisor is essential.  A person who challenges you to look inwards, to be curious about your thoughts and feelings. A consistent person to walk with you in your practice.

I am a qualified Supervisor (P.G Dip) and Group Supervisor, Qualified Counsellor (Masters - Level 7) and qualified adult lecturer in Counselling & Supervision (PGCE).

At present I lecture in Supervision with Counselling Tutor, facilitate private and organisational group supervision, as well as seeing supervisees, police clients and private clients.

Due to lecturing in supervision, I have a thorough understanding of theory, ethics and helping supervisees make best use of supervisory time. Often drawing from the 7 eyed model to guide my work with supervisees, to leave 'no stone unturned'.

In the past, I taught on accredited counselling courses for several years at a local college. I therefore have in depth knowledge of Person Centred theory and use of advanced counselling skills. You may have seen me counselling in recorded therapy sessions with the Counselling Skills Academy.

I often carry out skills practice with supervisees during supervisory time, this offers an informal opportunity to build confidence, celebrate growth and identify areas of focus.

We will work alongside each other as professionals and address issues raised through in depth exploration and mature discussion. I hope we will laugh at times as well!

Fees

My fee is £60 per hour for qualified and trainee counsellors. In most circumstances this would mean a £90 per month financial commitment.

Feel free to call, send a message or email. I am happy to have an initial conversation over the phone or zoom, this will not incur a fee.

I look forward to meeting you. Thanks.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
