Supervisor Dr Vikki Powell
I offer clinical supervision to psychotherapists, Counselling Psychologists and Counselling Psychologists in training. I also provide specialist trauma-supervision to a range of qualified psychologists in their workplace and at our clinic.
My approach to supervision aims to mirror the key components of effective therapy - providing a safe reflective space, using the relationship to explore more difficult emotions and beliefs, and seeking to provide the supervised with the help they need at that time to enable them to feel confident in their practice. I draw upon a range of theoretical models, including coaching frameworks.
I advocate the advantages of face-to-face supervision sessions, but have found the process of alternating face-to-face with skype sessions very effective.
I also offer supervision to coaches, either to support their own professional practice or as part of their formal qualification process as a coach.
