Supervision details
I provide one-to-one and group supervision for student, trainee, and qualified counsellors. With over 10 years of clinical supervision experience, I support supervisees at all stages of their professional development, helping them reflect on their practice, develop skills, navigate ethical dilemmas, and grow in confidence as practitioners.
Supervision is an ethical requirement for all counsellors, and I aim to create a space where this process is supportive, reflective, and professionally enriching. My approach is integrative, drawing on a variety of models and interventions to ensure each supervisee can fully utilise their supervision and benefit from guidance, challenge, and reflection.
For student counsellors, supervision focuses on developing core counselling skills, applying theoretical knowledge in practice, and working safely within ethical frameworks. For trainee counsellors - those actively seeing clients as part of their training or placement - supervision supports the practical application of skills, professional decision-making, reflective practice, and integration of learning from placements. Qualified counsellors can also benefit from supervision to explore complex cases, maintain professional standards, and continue their personal and professional growth.
I have extensive experience and insight into the requirements for student and trainee counsellors, having previously taught and delivered a variety of counselling courses while working as a Lecturer in Counselling at a local further education college. Having once been a trainee myself, I also understand first-hand the challenges and pressures that come with the learning journey of becoming a counsellor. I currently supervise many trainee and qualified counsellors from a variety of counselling agencies and backgrounds, which allows me to adapt supervision to different organisational contexts, course objectives, and client work.
Supervision provides a safe and confidential space to:
- Reflect on your practice and client work
- Explore ethical and professional issues
- Receive guidance and constructive challenge
- Develop confidence, skills, and self-awareness
- Ensure accountability and adherence to professional standards
Individual supervision sessions last 90 minutes and are charged at £80 per session. I may be able to offer a limited number of reduced-fee sessions for student or trainee counsellors during the daytime. Please contact me to discuss availability.
Supervision with me is designed to be tailored, reflective, and empowering, helping you feel professionally supported, confident in your practice, and equipped to provide the highest standard of care to your clients.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
