Supervisor
Registered Member MBACP (Accred), Dip.Couns, PG Dip Sup,

Supervision details

I have been a qualified supervisor (PG Dip Sup) since 2019 and an accredited counsellor and clinical hypnotherapist with over 11 years of experience in counselling and private practice. I have previously worked as a counsellor for the NHS as part of the IAPT Team.  I have volunteered at a women’s centre and worked for a bereavement charity in my local area of Wakefield.  As well as running my private practice in counselling and supervision, I also currently work with West Yorkshire Police supporting police officers and their families.

I believe supervision needs to be a safe, nurturing space where supervisees can feel supported with all elements of their therapeutic work along with any personal issues they may face, as a result of the work and the importance of self-care.  My overarching approach to supervision is person centred but I am also eclectic in my work and offer other modalities in which I am trained such as – transactional analysis, CBT, hypnotherapy, REWIND and NLP.

I always offer a 1 hour no obligation initial session at a cost of £40, to allow us to meet and for you to decide if I am the right supervisor for you.  I feel as we are all individuals, not every supervisor is suited to every supervisee and for your supervision to be effective, this is a factor that is of paramount importance when choosing a supervisor.

I provide supervision sessions in a residential area in Wakefield with easy access from the motorways in a confidential, professional and comfortable environment. There is off road and on road free parking outside.  I can also offer online supervision sessions via Skype or WhatsApp.

Please do get in touch if you want to ask any further questions or would like to book in.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
