Supervision details
Hello, I’m Liz. I hold a Professional Diploma in Clinical Supervision. I can bring to our supervision over 9 years of experience as a secondary school counsellor and a counsellor in Private Practice working with adults, children and young people. Face to Face, Zoom/Skype and Telephone appointments are available. I offer individual and group Supervision and welcome counsellors in training, qualified counsellors and people in related professions. I will offer you a safe space where our joint journey will begin and where our common vulnerability is accepted. I will give you the time and space you need for reflection and development. Listening and supporting you as you grow, paying attention to your needs and encouraging you as you develop your abilities and confidence. I offer an environment where we will build a trusting relationship where you feel relaxed and open without any judgement, where we will have the freedom to explore your experience with clients. Our supervision time will be a collaborative experience.
We will work together to examine insight and empathy in your work with your clients. I will help ensure that the way you are working is professional, safe and ethical. We will look together at your workload and I will help you to recognise the signs of burnout and work overload and the importance of looking after yourself. By looking after your own needs you are more able to help the people you work with. I work to BACP ethical standards and recognise 1.5 hours a month as a minimum for supervision in counselling and psychotherapy work and for those in related professions. I really like this quote from a letter to a new supervisee: "I want you to have the freedom and spontaneity to shout with excitement and enthusiasm at your success and to acknowledge without shame your worst scenarios" Michael Carroll (Keynote speech to BASPR Conference 2006)
Fees:
I offer a FREE 20 minute initial appointment on Zoom/Phone to discuss supervision and see if we would like to work together.
£60 per 1.5 hour session
£50.00 per 1.5 hour session for counsellors in training and students in related professions. (Fees are reviewed annually in January/April)
Group fee available on request

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
