Supervision details

I am a relational, trauma informed, integrative therapist and supervisor with 15 years experience of working in private practice. I’m accredited with BACP.

Are you looking for a supervisor who understands the importance of supervision being a place where you can be real: where it’s safe to express ethical dilemmas, professional concerns, fears, or personal insecurities without feeling criticised or mistrusted. We all need a supervision space where we can ask for help, reflect honestly, and receive direction in a supportive and encouraging way.

Supervision, for me, is about creating safety and trust — going at your pace and maintaining a collaborative relationship. It’s a space for curiosity and reflection, especially around the dynamics present in the therapeutic relationship. There is always something happening for both therapist and client, and supervision is where these dynamics can be untangled and explored to keep our clients at the centre of our work.  This is the kind of supervision I’ve benefitted from for over a decade, and it’s who I strive to be: someone who is steady, curious, reflective, and always has your back.

Who I Work With
I support therapists who work with clients struggling with things like (but not limited to): anxiety, depression, addiction, bereavement, abuse and those curious about possible neurodivergence.

I am a therapist with lived experience of the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergence and complex trauma.  Therefore I am also passionate about supporting therapists who work with clients from these communities, who are often blamed, misunderstood, or unsupported.

I am experienced in supporting clients who struggle with dissociative disorders, DID, FND seizures, BPD, and OCD. I take a non-medical model approach, seeing these diagnoses more as clusters of symptoms that indicate how clients have had to adapt and survive painful life circumstances — symptoms that can evolve and heal with the right support.

My Approach

I use the Seven-Eyed Process Model to create a safe and reflective space where we can explore the multi-layered dynamics present in therapy. I integrate a variety of approaches, including psychodynamic, person-centred, IFS (Internal Family Systems), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness, drawing flexibly on what best supports you and your clients.

Experience and Training

I qualified as a therapist in the psychodynamic and person centred model in 2012. I did a generic Diploma of Supervision in 2025, with CICS (Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology) because their sex positive and inclusive values aligned with mine, The diploma is regulated by UKCP. I am an accredited member of the BACP with over 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist in private practice, I have a total of more than 35 years of experience supporting people in education and healthcare settings.

I am rigorous about undertaking ongoing CPD. Recently I have taken courses on topics such as: The therapeutic use of Kink, Working with Addiction, Rainbow Therapy Conference,  Oxford Masters Conference and working with ARFID. I am an avid podcast listener on topics relating to mental health, addiction, food and mood, attachment theory etc I am connected with organisations including Pink Therapy, Rainbow Therapy Scotland, BEAT, and a strong network of local colleagues.

I work with individual therapists, and those working with young people (aged 16+). I particularly enjoy supporting trainee therapists as they navigate the early, often anxiety-provoking stages of their professional journey — helping them grow in confidence and self-trust.

I offer online sessions using the platform Whereby and face-to-face supervision from my home in Midlothian.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership
