Supervision details

I am registered with the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA) as a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with psychotherapy speciality (PTSTA). I provide online clinical supervision to trainee counsellors and psychotherapists, and qualified practitioners. In addition, I hold a Certificate in Counselling Supervision awarded by Physis Training in Edinburgh. Whilst practicing from a Transactional Analysis framework, I draw on a number of other modalities, including Psychodynamic, Person Centred and Relational. I tailor my approach to the specific needs of the counsellor or psychotherapist I am working with. I believe that counselling supervision is a fundamental part of working as a counsellor or psychotherapist. In working with both trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, I have a strong desire to establish meaningful contact and develop a trusting relationship, whereby my supervisees feel supported, encouraged and appropriately challenged in their client work. Furthermore, I am interested in exploring and supporting my supervisees to make meaning out of the issues that arise for them during their therapeutic work. I also offer support and supervision for those within the caring professions, such as nursing, social work, health workers and teachers. Having worked within the voluntary sector for a number of years, I really valued the importance of having regular supervision to support me in my client work. I appreciate however that not all of those working in vocational jobs have regular access to quality support and supervision, which can have detrimental effects on their overall health and wellbeing. I provide supervision in two formats -Individual Supervision - I am available for individual supervision on a Tuesday afternoon and evening. Individual supervision sessions are held monthly and last for one hour. The fee is £60 per session. Group Supervision - I am available for group supervision on a Tuesday afternoon and evening. Group supervision takes place on a monthly basis for three hour sessions. The maximum size of the group is three, with each practitioner receiving one hour of direct supervision from myself. The fee is £60 each per session. I firmly believe it is important for you to feel comfortable and safe with me as your supervisor. With this in mind, I offer a free 1 hour initial assessment session whereby we can meet and talk about your current working context, training needs and specific areas for growth and development. I will also outline my expectations of you as my supervisee. At the end of this assessment, should we decide to work together, you will be required to complete a Supervision Contract outlining the roles and responsibilities of both supervisor and supervisee, and practicalities. I offer a safe, confidential space where you will be supported to discuss your work and its challenges, whilst using your session to reflect, learn and develop. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to find out more about my supervision services or to make an appointment.
