Supervision details

With over 20 Years' experience,   I have been supervising Counsellors either entering the field of Counselling or need supervision to complete their required supervised hours by BACP and other Counselling Bodies. My background training is in Clinical Psychology in my 20's,Integrative Counselling in my 30's,  Psycho-Traumatology in my 40's. In between, I have also trained in Clinical Hypnotherapy as well as done CPDS in EFT, EMDR, other Trauma Protocols like Schema work, Penny Parks inner child work and CATS. I have also trained in Supervision with my own supervisor and done several CPDs in supervision; I have been been supervising counselling students and new Counsellors in the last few years. I have worked with Domestic Violence Units, Child development Units in Mauritius then moved to the UK in 2002. Here I trained in Counselling and Psychotherapy and have  been working in Full-Time Private Practices in Wokingham, Windsor, Newbury, Reading since 2006. My clients range from simple symptom relief i.e. exams anxiety up to long term therapy with Borderline personality Disorders, eating disorders or PTSD clients. I work with anger and anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, sleep issues, eating disorders, phobias and fears, childhood sexual abuse, trauma issues etc...I have also taught Psychology, Counselling and Hypnotherapy at different times over the years. I work with Children and Adults, so I   am in a position to be able to supervise across all age groups. My therapeutic training has been in Psychodynamic initially, then integrative where I use CBT, Solution focused therapy, Schema Therapy as well as Hypnotherapy to work with clients. My typical Supervisee can be from any theoretical background, because supervision is NOT about your therapeutic approach but rather about how the relationship between you and your client is benefiting the client, how you are safeguarding your mental and emotional health to prevent burn-out syndrome as a therapist, where the supervisor can help you go over blocks or difficulties you are having with a specific case, etc...so you can be from a different therapeutic orientation and yet work with me as my training and approach over the years  is integrative and over 20 years I have  had experience applying several orientations in my practice and through the years developed my  own way of working with clients which is most beneficial for my unique clients... Why not give me a call if you are looking for supervision and discuss your specific supervision needs? I work from Wokingham, Reading and  Woodley  Mondays-Fridays, 10.00am-9.00pm. I charges £50 per supervision hour but if you need 1 1/2 hour you will pay £60. I have 10% discount available for Students not in full time employment as I still remember the feeling of needing the supervision support and having to pay for the course, personal therapy and supervision!

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
