I am a Psychodynamic / Integrative Supervisor with a wpf Post Qualification Certificate in Supervision. My supervision practice is based on Hawkins and Shohet's seven eyed model where the scope of what is thought about and explored in supervision includes the internal processes of, and the relationships between all three participants: the client, the counsellor / supervisee and myself as supervisor.
I am offering individual or group supervision for qualified or trainee counsellors who are working with adult clients. Sessions can be arranged at a frequencythat meets your needs (e.g. monthly, fortnightly, ad hoc) and can be face to face (ideally) or via Zoom. My rate is £60 an hour but I offer a discounted rate of £40 an hour for trainees and newly qualified counsellors for one year after starting work with me.
Since 2015 I have facilitated Group Training Supervision (GTS) sessions for students on Higher Education counselling training courses at Gloucestershire College and I bring this experience into my work with qualified supervisees. GTS is primarily about helping student counsellors link their academic learning to what is happening with their clients but it also often strays into areas normally covered by clinical supervision (e.g. ethical practice, counsellor self care, safeguarding, advice on managing boundaries etc).
As with my approach to teaching, I aim to be supportive and encouraging and to facilitate a learning environment that allows for the individual needs of supervisees. My experience as a teacher has proved helpful for trainees and for newly qualified counsellors who are moving from the very supportive environment of their training course and agency placement into private practice. I am aware of how impactful this move - leaving the 'nest' - can be and have an understanding of the practical and emotional challenges that are involved .
Although my original training was psychodynamic, the courses I teach at Gloucestershire College are integrative. Over the years my counselling practice has been influenced and expanded to encompass much of the person centred and relational approaches I have taught. And the next step in my process has been to bring this into my work with supervisees - hence my use of the Seven Eyed model.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
