Supervision details
Since 2015 I have been working with clinicians from a variety of orientations: person-centred, art psychotherapy, transactional analysis, and psychodynamic. I prefer a collegial and democratic approach to supervision. I believe in supporting supervisees to develop their own authority and way of work that feels true to who they are. I have experience working with individuals and groups in a variety of settings, including NHS, NGOs, training institutes, and private practice. I have worked as an assessor and have been an examiner on viva exams.
I have written academic papers and delivered workshops on various psychotherapy issues. I like to share ideas, experiences, and clinical stories and reflect on issues I have grappled with in private practice: the experience of being silenced in the room, the neurobiological processes of stress, working with groups, conducting assessments, and surviving a client's suicide.
I am deeply committed to providing evidence that what I do works, and furthering knowledge in the field of psychotherapy. I conduct clinical research using pragmatic case study methodology and the hermeneutic single-case efficacy study. I am very interested in working with clinicians who want to develop an ethical evidence-based practice. I am available to discuss a wide range of psychotherapy issues such as: dual diagnosis working with clients with mood and personality disorders, psychosomatic disorders (hysteria), attachment disorders processing distressing/disturbing emotional response to a client's erotic transference assessing suicide risk, and working with suicidal clients recovering after a client's suicide dealing with professional complaints ethics the myths of psychotherapy burnout and self-care academic writing case study research auto-ethnography qualitative research neuroscience
I offer face-to-face, telephone, and Skype supervision.

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
