Paula Newman - MBACP (Senior Accred) Counsellor / Supervisor

Stanmore HA7 & Harrow HA3
020 8930 9831 07941 958 034 Registered / Accredited

I am a BACP Senior Accredited supervisor of individuals and groups and an approved supervisor for trainees at Metanoia. My approach is Person-centred and I have experience and understandings of various counselling perspectives. I work with qualified and trainee counsellors at my private practice in Stanmore and I can offer face to face and Skype sessions.

My collaborative approach involves working together to explore your relationships with clients and attending to your personal and professional development. Supervision is a professional requirement that helps you to meet the needs of your clients, to reflect upon your practice and to take good care of yourself.

I am a Focusing trainer, registered with the British Focusing Association (BFA). My project, ‘Bringing Focusing to a Counselling Supervision Group’ showed me that Focusing can increase counsellors' self-awareness and enhance their explorations in supervision. As a result I have developed my practice to include Focusing within supervision when requested.

As part of my contract with supervisees I can be contacted between sessions when necessary.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
