Supervision details
As Placement Director and Lecturer in Counselling Psychology at the University of Manchester, I have specific insight into the challenges trainee psychologists face, from navigating placements and building clinical confidence to the pressures of the doctoral training route itself. I bring this understanding into my supervision alongside my own registration on the BPS Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors.
I particularly enjoy working with practitioners from racialised backgrounds and value the chance to think together about the specific dynamics that can arise in supervision and clinical practice.
My approach to supervision is collaborative. Rather than working to a fixed model, I like to discuss together what style and approach would be most helpful for you, so that supervision reflects your needs, your stage of training or practice, and how you like to work.
The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
