Supervision details

About My Supervision Practice
I am an experienced, UKCP-recognised Teaching Supervisor with 10 years of experience providing high-quality individual and group supervision. I work extensively with trainee and qualified counsellors, psychotherapists, and allied professionals, including Mental Health Nurses, Genetic Counsellors, Bereavement Specialists, and Mental Health Occupational Therapists (OTs).

My practice is deeply grounded in a developmental-relational approach, though I am highly proficient across a wide range of therapeutic modalities. I view supervision as a multi-dimensional, collaborative relationship that naturally evolves alongside your clinical growth.

My Supervisory Style
I believe effective supervision must balance safety with clinical growth. My approach is intentionally designed to be:

  • Supportive & Therapeutic: Providing a secure, non-judgmental space to process the intense emotional impact and relational dynamics of your clinical work.
  • Educational & Challenging: Encouraging deep self-reflection, robust critical thinking, and the sharpening of your unique clinical edge.
  • Directive (When Required): Offering decisive, clear ethical guidance, safeguarding oversight, and practical direction when clinical safety or regulatory standards demand it.

Who I Work With
Trainees & Student Counsellors: Navigating initial placements, managing university requirements, and building core clinical confidence.
Qualified Practitioners: Deepening relational skills, exploring complex transference/countertransference, or expanding into private practice.
Allied Professionals / Medical Specialists: Processing emotionally challenging casework within high-stress organisational, medical, or pastoral settings.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
