Supervision details

I have Experience working with Adults, Children and young people. working with clients from the age three and above. Having experienced a wide range of clients particularly those dealing with trauma, Sexual abuse, low mood/depression, anxiety, Identity confusion, attachment issues, substance misuse, Relationship difficulties, low confidence and self-esteem and more.

I have specialised training in trauma-informed support and I practice in a responsive and sensitive approach always unique to the needs of each individual. I am qualified as a person-centred counsellor, supervisor, CBT therapist, Children and young person’s counsellor, EFT practitioner, creative counselling and Rewind practitioner. I have developed extensive experience in exploring the complex nature of trauma and its impact on mental health.

. I have particular experience in working  trauma and offering individuals a safe space to explore their trauma. Whether this be single event , relational , interpersonal and attachment trauma. Developmental trauma , intergenerational , multigenerational and historical trauma. Organizational – workplace trauma. Secondary ,Vicarious trauma and burnout and grief / Loss.

I have vast experience working with children aged three and above, with a particular focus on supporting Children and adults who have experienced sexual trauma , domestic abuse and behavioural and developmental needs. Including working with some difficulties in learning , ADHD and ASD symptoms. I have a good understanding around risk and safeguarding. I have also provided sessions on self-esteem / boundaries, healthy relationships and provided family support sessions.

I have understanding on the theory on using a range of creative tools in therapy and understand what interventions are appropriate and according to developmental age. I also have a good understanding around Gangs and relationship abuse, young people and intimate partner violence in the digital age, young people affected by 'honour'-based violence and forced marriage, Identifying and responding to child sexual exploitation, how adolescence impact on a young person's behaviour and Safety planning with young people.

I have also worked in the field of substance misuse and addictions as a counsellor and provided support to clients in a residential setting whilst in rehab. In this I worked positively and constructively with clients towards recovery and promoted a positive wellbeing environment. I actively and assertively engaged those clients who display low levels of motivation to change using a range of innovative methods and therapeutic approaches to encourage engagement. Working with various addictions not only substance misuse.

I am an integratively trained therapist and this is also my approach in a supervisory role. This means I draw upon different approaches to meet the needs of the supervisee and client I am working with. These approaches typically include person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focused therapy, creative therapy and mindfulness. I use a variety of materials in sessions with both adults and children where needed and suitable. I am a down to earth and a warm person and will always offer a supportive and safe space.

As an experienced counsellor and dedicated supervisor, I am dedicated to providing a supportive and friendly environment to help with your professional growth. Guided by the seven-eyed model and working with a relational approach.

As a supervisor I will work with you to help explore your interventions, challenges within your role and help reflect on your personal responses and experiences. My aim is to help you identify your strengths within your work and help enhance your skills and build confidence.

I am here to offer guidance and work collaboratively to help empower you and enhance your practice. I will provide a space where you feel heard, understood and accepted. My aim is to provide an environment in which you can feel comfortable to to share anything you feel you need to help with your work. I want to help you to reflect on your successes as well as the aspects about your work that you feel you need to develop or areas you feel you are not so comfortable.

Having experience working with children and teenagers gives me that understanding that it's not always easy. Working with children can be at times challenging but very rewarding. Managing everything around the child, maintaining safety and assessing any risks, building trust and establishing a good relationship all can be difficult. I can help support in this area of work as I have good understanding on the theory on using a range of creative tools in therapy and understand what interventions are appropriate and according to developmental age. If you work with CYP, I would love to support you in this work.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
