Supervision details

I am a COSCA qualified supervisor who can work with qualified counsellors or counsellors in training.

My training is in pluralistic counselling, and hence I am open to discussing many different ways of working with clients with my supervisees. My aim in supervision is to work collaboratively with the supervisee and share experiences and knowledge in a safe and non-judgmental environment. The primary purpose of supervision is to safeguard the well-being of the client. With this in mind, I aim help the supervisee grow, learn, and be open to new ideas and ways of working that will help the supervisees develop a good relationship with their clients and help the client achieve their goals.

Throughout our supervision I will be guided by several supervision frameworks and models, and I am happy to discuss these as we go along if you wish. The main models I will use are the Page and Wosket Cyclical Model of Supervision (2014), and Hawkin’s and Shohet’s Seven Eyed Model of Supervision (2012).

I am open to working in creative ways e.g. using sand tray and miniature objects.

Supervision can be in person, or online. My availability is Mondays or Tuesdays. I can offer a free 30 minute meeting where we can discuss how you might like to work in supervision and whether we would be suited to work together.

Fees:

£50 per hour for qualified counsellors

£45 per hour for counsellors in training (on placements)

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
