About me
I'm Mel, a dedicated psychotherapeutic counsellor and hypnotherapist based in Dorset, with a passion for helping individuals to navigate their personal journeys toward well-being and self-discovery. I'm a pluralistic therapist, which means I draw from multiple therapeutic approaches, including person-centred, CBT-informed strategies, and integrative counselling. I offer flexible, client-led therapy using a collaborative approach that adapts methods to each person, tailoring sessions to support your unique needs and goals.
I provide counselling on It's own, and I also blend counselling approaches within hypnotherapy sessions to support deeper, personalised progress.
As a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and National Hypnotherapy Society, I adhere strictly to their ethical framework. Regular supervision and continuous professional development are cornerstones of my commitment to providing the highest quality care. These practices ensure I remain current with the latest advancements in therapy and uphold the highest standards of professional integrity.
My journey into counselling and hypnotherapy was inspired by my own experiences. Having personally benefited from both approaches, I understand first hand the profound impact they can have on one's life. This personal insight fuels my empathy and dedication as a therapist, allowing me to connect with my clients on a deeper level.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked extensively in childcare settings, as well as caring for older adults and adults with learning disabilities. These experiences have enriched my understanding of the diverse challenges people face and have honed my ability to offer compassionate, individualised care to each of my clients.
Your well-being is at the heart of my practice. I am here to support you through life's challenges, offering a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings.
