About me

Many people I work with come to therapy feeling anxious, unsettled, or unsure why certain patterns keep repeating in their lives - even when they’ve tried to understand or change them.

At times, it can feel as though you’re managing on the surface, yet still find yourself:

  • recognising familiar patterns in your relationships, but not fully understanding where they come from
  • putting others first, even when part of you hesitates
  • overthinking or second-guessing your responses
  • sensing something needs to change, but not quite being able to access it

Often, these experiences aren’t random. They can be linked to earlier ways of adapting - where being accommodating, aware of others, or holding things in made sense at the time.
Over time, these patterns can continue, even when they no longer feel helpful or aligned with who you are now.

I work with people who recognise these patterns and feel ready to explore them at a deeper level  not just to cope, but to understand and shift what’s underneath.

My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, and may include:

  • inner child / parts work
  • working with how experiences are held in the body
  • gentle exploration at both conscious and subconscious levels

Over time, this work can lead to a clearer sense of yourself, less internal conflict, and a greater ability to respond in ways that feel more aligned with who you are.

I also offer: 'Walk & Talk Therapy | Walthamstow, East London

Not everyone feels comfortable sitting face-to-face in a therapy room or having every session online.

For some people, it feels easier to talk while walking side-by-side, outdoors, with space to breathe, move, reflect and think more clearly.

I offer Walk & Talk therapy sessions in carefully chosen outdoor spaces local to Walthamstow for clients who are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, emotionally stuck, anxious, mentally overloaded or simply disconnected from themselves.

Being outdoors and gently moving can help regulate the nervous system, reduce feelings of pressure and allow thoughts and emotions to flow more naturally. Walking itself can also be therapeutic. The gentle left-right rhythm involved in walking (sometimes referred to as bilateral stimulation), combined with being in nature, may support emotional processing, clearer thinking and a greater sense of calm.

Sometimes movement creates emotional movement too.

Many people find they open up more easily while walking than they do sitting in a traditional therapy setting.

These sessions combine therapeutic conversation with the grounding effects of movement, nature and space, while still offering depth, reflection and emotional support.

Sessions are paced gently and intuitively. We can walk, pause, slow down, sit quietly, or simply take a moment when needed.

Walk & Talk therapy may be particularly supportive for:

Stress and burnout
Anxiety and overthinking
Emotional overwhelm
Grief and loss
Life transitions
Low mood
Feeling emotionally “stuck”
Professionals struggling to switch off

*Outdoor sessions are offered following an initial consultation and where clinically and practically appropriate.

If you’re unsure whether this way of working feels right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

Some key factors to look for when choosing a therapist: training, qualifications and experience

  • Level of qualifications
  • Training
  • Credible Membership Organisation
  • Experience

Qualification: I hold a PG Dip Integrative Transpersonal Counselling. Essentially this qualification is Level 7 (Master's level).  (The minimum requirement in the UK is level 4).

Training: My training at the Re-Vision centre in London was Psychotherapy training. I decided to qualify as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor which can be viewed as a combination of counselling with psychotherapy.

Other practitioner training which informs my practice:

  • Clinical Hypnotherapist
  • EMDR practitioner
  • Advanced EFT practitioner
  • Matrix Re-imprinting practitioner
  • NLP practitioner
  • Life Coach
  • Meditation and Mindfulness

Membership organisation: It's essential you look for a therapist who has been accredited and is a member of one of the main membership bodies (UKCP, NCPS, BACP etc).

UKCP - UK Council for Psychotherapy - I am a member of the UKCP which is a highly regarded membership organisation for Psychotherapists and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor's. You can search on their directory too for professional's and feel assured they have reached a high level of training.

Experience:
I bring a wealth of experience from working in both generic and specialist therapy centres across London, as well as for charities focused on trauma. My work spans 1:1 therapy sessions, clinical supervision, and reflective practice, allowing me to engage deeply with clients facing a wide range of challenges. I have maintained a consistent private practice, where I have supported individuals navigating feelings of overwhelm, isolation, and the belief that no one truly understands them.

Therapy is a collaborative and transformative process. Together, we can explore the challenges you’re facing, make sense of how past events may have shaped you, and find ways to navigate the present with greater clarity and resilience.

First steps:

  1. Free phone or online consultation. This initial conversation is a chance for you to share what’s going on in your life, ask any questions, and learn more about how I work. Based on this discussion, we can arrange an initial session.
  2. Initial session: Your first session will cover practical details, including confidentiality, but the focus will be on giving you space to talk about what feels most pressing. I understand how much courage it takes to reach out, so I encourage you to share what feels right at your own pace. After a few sessions, we’ll decide together whether to work on a short-term or open-ended basis.
  3. Agreement on weekly sessions either on a short term or open ended basis.

My Approach:
I am trained in an integrative approach, which draws from multiple therapeutic frameworks. This allows us to tailor the process to your unique needs and preferences, as I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all method for therapy. Our work may include traditional talk therapy, but it can also extend to exploring how the body holds and processes trauma. Using a variety of tools, we’ll find the approach that feels most supportive for you.

At the heart of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel truly heard and understood.

Background:
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 30 years in the social care field, specialising in mental health. This experience has deepened my ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and communities, enriching my work as a therapist.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

A final note: Remember this is your investment. It's useful to get a good sense of how different therapists work and arrange multiple consultations. There's a lot of information which can sometimes feel overwhelming - please feel free to ask me any questions which might support you to feel more at ease.

As well as looking for the essential qualifications and accreditations, it's important to feel comfortable and safe with your therapist.

Therapy is a worthwhile journey as you will learn more about yourself, feel freer and see that reflected in your external world. You will also learn tools that will support you along the way.
