Working with people-pleasing: CPD for therapists

18th September 2026, 10.00am - 1.00pm
Counsellors and trainees
£95
Online

This 3-hour CPD workshop is for qualified therapists who want to deepen their understanding of how to support clients presenting with people-pleasing patterns – whether it's the central focus of the work, or sitting alongside other presentations.

The workshop will give you:

  • A clinical framework to better understand the people-pleasing pattern and dynamic – this way of seeing it may be quite new/different compared to how you've understood it before.
  • Numerous strategies to help you work effectively with people-pleasing clients in the room, suited to different types of clients and how they might present.
  • A new understanding of how to support your clients with guilt – how it plays into the people-pleasing pattern, and how you can help your clients move through it.

The session draws on a codependency lens alongside TA, attachment theory and trauma-informed practice, and includes group discussion and exercises to put the ideas shared into practice.

Tickets cost £95 for Counselling Directory members, using code 'CDMember' on the payment page. There is also the option to spread the cost into two instalments with no extra charge.

All tickets include access to the recording and a 3-hour CPD certificate.
