It is my belief that trauma lies at the heart of most psychological distress. Trauma affects both the mind and body, resulting in a set of symptoms and behaviours that continue long after the event has ended. How we deal with the effects of a traumatic experience can be seen in the hypervigilance, hyperarousal, avoidance and often self-destructive behaviours common to traumatised individuals. In understanding and helping someone back from a traumatic experience we can find ourselves both challenged and rewarded.

Workshop includes:

  • introduction to trauma and PTSD
  • trauma the psychobiology
  • individual predictors
  • development and attachment
  • researched based approaches
  • installation of hope
  • case study
  • feedback and discussion.
