We are very excited to announce that places are now open for our newest What Next..!? group which will begin in May 2019 (exact date tbc).

What is What Next..!?

What Next..!? is a six-part, fortnightly, creative forum and a dynamically interactive experiential group, exploring – and actioning – the themes of growing, refining and developing a private practice.

Facilitated by Darren Cheek, this group will serve as a creative, much-needed, safe and supportive environment in which practitioners can exchange questions, concerns, ideas and inspirations.

With focused, practical, problem-solving activities – alongside skills and idea-sharing – What Next..!? is an equally perfect environment for those newer to private practice, or those practitioners looking for alternative or more traditional ways of growing and infusing new life into their practice.

What other practitioners say about What Next..!?

“I couldn’t recommend this course highly enough – whether you’re starting out in private practice or an old hack like me, and whether you have one client or 20.”

“I learnt a good deal on the course, both from Darren and the other participants, and now feel much more confident about entering private practice. I also feel that I have many more tools and skills to develop my client base.”

“Darren is compassionate, lively and able to hold the group in all its many shades of darkness and light.”

“Giving attention to the business aspects of my practice – making that a valuable and explicit process.”

“Darren’s facilitation and energy in the group was excellent – the right balance between support and challenge.”

“I now feel much clearer about what changes I want to make to my practice, how I want to develop as a practitioner and what my long and short-term goals are. And I have an ongoing group to help me stay on track.”

“A really useful space to focus in on working and building my practice, Darren facilitated a warm and positive container for challenging my blind spots and building on my vision for growing and running my business in a therapeutic frame.”

“I joined this class because, although I have been in practice for many years and my practice was reasonably healthy, it was feeling like I was just ‘fighting fires’ – I couldn’t see beyond the next item in my diary. I needed somewhere that I could pull back and feel supported to look at the overview. Eg: How is my practice? Do I enjoy it? Do I even want to be doing it? What could I change? The group provided this and more. It enabled me to ask all these difficult questions, but it also helped me to think about who I am, as a person and as a counsellor.”
