DBT skills group programme
Do you suffer from intense emotions that are hard to regulate? Do you find your intense emotions sabotage your relationships? Maybe you are impulsive and regret some of your actions afterwards. If you struggle to regulate your emotions effectively, DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) could be the right therapy for you.
I offer a nine-week intensive or 18-week dialectical behaviour therapy skills group programme to assist those suffering the symptoms of borderline personality disorder/emotionally unstable personality disorder, ADHD and other emotion regulation issues such as chronic depression and/or anxiety and self-harming behaviours.
The programme includes DBT's four modules of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
In addition to the skills group, the programme includes:
- One-to-one hourly sessions.
- Family support evenings via Zoom.
- Out of sessions telephone skills coaching service.
- Weekly booklets containing course material.
- Weekly DBT digital diary cards.
- Additional handouts and supporting resources.
This programme aims to support you in learning to understand your emotions, how they inform you of your needs as well as how to engage in effective behaviours and communication. Regulating emotions more effectively will improve your quality of life as well as contribute to happier, healthier relationships.
