Develop your skills and understanding in group facilitation and training with this online, dynamic six-day course. Taking place over three months, Bev Gibbons, our trainer, has developed a course with plenty of space for play, experiential learning and group process.

"I really thought the course was very useful, well-paced and considered my process as an individual as well as providing plenty of relevant theory/practical ideas. I'm very pleased to have attended and I am amazed at what was achieved in just 6 days. I would certainly recommend the course to others."

Course information

The part-time course takes place on three weekends over three months. We train in small groups, ensuring all attendees have space to fully participate. The course takes place online via Zoom – there is no restriction on location – join us from wherever you are.

The programme consists of three modules (one per weekend) that integrate theory with experiential learning, group discussions, reflective activities and hands-on opportunities to practice group facilitation.

The certificate course has been developed to actively support professionals in the helping fields; therapists, practitioners, coaches, mental health workers, HR managers, etc., who currently facilitate or are interested in facilitating groups, from organisation teams to therapeutic settings.

Dates

Training starts at 10.00 am UK time and finishes at 5.00 pm UK time. The dates for the course are:

  • Module 1 – 24 & 25 October 2026
  • Module 2 – 28 & 29 November 2026
  • Module 3 – 30 & 31 January 2027

  • Be confident applying theory to practice: Learn to integrate various groupwork theories and leadership tasks into your specific settings and at different stages of group development.
  • Enhance your facilitation and leadership skills: Use a range of approaches to effectively lead and manage groups, balancing individuation, autonomy, and interdependence.
  • Be equipped to critically evaluate group types and processes: Assess different group formats, their clinical implications, and systemic considerations for effective facilitation.
