About me

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You may be experiencing grief, anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions or feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges. Sometimes there is no single problem to identify but rather a sense that things do not feel quite right or that you are struggling to cope in the way you once did.

Hello, I'm Yvonne, a fully qualified and BACP registered counsellor offering in-person, online and telephone counselling across the UK.

I provide a confidential and supportive space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you without fear of judgement.

Seeking counselling can feel like a big step and I aim to offer a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, understood and accepted.

At different points in our life, we can find ourselves facing difficult emotions, challenging circumstances or questions about who we are and where we are heading in life. Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences, helping you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and the changes you may wish to make.

Alongside my general counselling practice, I have a particular interest in supporting individuals through bereavement.

I also recognise that neurodivergent individuals may process emotions, relationships, identity and life events in ways that are unique to them. I strive to work in a way that respects individual differences and create a supportive environment where you can explore your experiences safely and authentically.

Our sessions will be guided by what feels most important to you.

Together we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you with the aim of helping you move towards greater understanding, self-awareness, and wellbeing.

I work in accordance with the ethical framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and engage in regular professional supervision to support safe, ethical and supportive practice.

If you feel I may be able to support you through this, please get in touch and we can arrange a brief call to discuss if counselling with me is right for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
