About me
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting. You may have been thinking about it for some time, or perhaps something has happened recently that has made you realise you need some support. Whatever has brought you here, you don't need to have everything figured out before we begin.
I offer a warm, friendly and non-judgemental space where you can take a pause, talk openly and have some time to focus on yourself. You might want to make sense of how you are feeling, understand why you keep finding yourself in the same situations or relationships, or simply have a safe space to talk about what is going on for you.
As an Integrative-Relational Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I believe that the relationship we build together is an important part of the counselling process. Our sessions are guided by you and what you feel ready to explore. I won't tell you what you should do or expect you to have the right words. Instead, we can take time to understand what is happening for you, at a pace that feels comfortable.
I offer face-to-face counselling in Walsall, as well as online and telephone counselling across the UK. I offer both short- and longer-term counselling, depending on what feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a BA (Hons) in Integrative-Relational Counselling and Psychotherapy and have been a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) since 2018. I have worked in private practice since 2019, supporting adults through a range of experiences and challenges.
Much of my private practice experience has been around relationships and the difficulties that can arise within them. This includes relationships with partners, family and friends, as well as the relationship we have with ourselves. I have also supported people experiencing anxiety, low confidence and self-esteem, grief and loss, and times of change, uncertainty or feeling stuck.
Over time, I have become particularly interested in how our experiences can shape the way we see ourselves and relate to other people. Sometimes we can find ourselves repeating familiar patterns without really understanding why. Having the space to slow down, explore what is happening and make sense of these patterns can help us develop a better understanding of ourselves and what we need.
I continue to develop my knowledge and skills through ongoing training, professional development, clinical supervision and reflection. For me, being a counsellor is about continuing to learn and being open to each person I meet, rather than assuming that one approach will work for everyone.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Finding the right counsellor can feel like a big step, and I understand that it can be difficult to know what to expect, especially if you haven't had counselling before.
I believe it is important that you feel comfortable with the person you choose to work with. You don't need to know exactly what you want to talk about or have everything worked out before you come. We can take some time to understand what is bringing you to counselling and what you would like support with.
I aim to offer a space where you can be yourself, talk openly and feel listened to without judgement. My hope is that, over time, you can develop a better understanding of yourself, your experiences and your relationships, and feel more able to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
If you would like to find out a little more about me or how counselling works, you are welcome to get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation, giving us an opportunity to have an initial chat and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
