Seeking help is not easy. Often, it is more difficult than letting things stay the way they are.
I can offer you a safe and confidential space to think about these things in your life that aren’t working, and am committed to helping you challenge the usual way of going about things.
This might be around difficult events or life transitions, such as changes in employment or relationships, the loss of a loved one, illness, or a threat to life. In some cases, people struggle with low mood, anxiety, or feelings of loneliness, without exactly being sure why. We often find ourselves feeling stuck in the same place, or doing the same things over and over. We experience complex tensions and dilemmas surrounding friends and family life, personal development, work, and more, with no clear solution in sight. There might also be a general desire to think about and make sense of your life, to face your patterns and fears, and to change the way you do and see things. In these situations, psychotherapy allows you to freely and safely explore things with a professional, in a non-judgemental and confidential environment.
Throughout your psychotherapy sessions, you will have the opportunity to raise issues that are currently on your mind and to explore underlying matters and themes, some of which you may not be completely aware. I will listen to you closely and will work with you to uncover the difficult areas of your life, and to think about things you might not ordinarily think about.
I offer individual and group psychotherapy for adolescents and adults of all ages, in English and Hebrew.
Any treatment, whether group or individual, begins with an initial consultation period.
There will usually be two or three consultation sessions, each lasting 60 minutes, in which the two of us will meet and see if working together is possible and wanted.
Throughout the consultation you will have the opportunity to reflect on the issues that are on your mind, and consider options for treatment.
Consultation session, 1 hour 15 minutes – £110
This is a typically long-term, open, emotionally focused, and unstructured psychological treatment, in which the patient is invited to talk about whatever may be on his or her mind. It is greatly informed by psychoanalytic theory, which aims to explore unconscious processes. Though this exploration is often difficult, important themes and repeated patterns can emerge and promote new understandings about ourselves, as well as a greater sense of fulfillment and freedom.
Session of psychodynamic psychotherapy, 50 minutes – £80
We spend life as part of many groups – our family, at school, at work - and the psychotherapy group aims to reflect this very meaningful aspect of our lives.
Like in individual sessions, patients are invited to share whatever comes to their mind. Though opening up to a group of people we don’t know can be daunting, the group may also offer a greater sense of support and commonality. Patients in groups often find that many of their own experiences and difficulties are in fact shared by others, promoting a sense of empowerment and reducing loneliness.
Session of group psychotherapy, one and a half hours - £40
I provide individual and group supervision for clinicians from different backgrounds working in various settings. I work through a psychodynamic framework which can be applied to a range of modalities and provide new perspectives to your work.
Individual clinical supervision, 50 minutes - £70
A reduced fee may be considered for those on low income.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over ten year's experience working with adolescents and adults of all ages, from various backgrounds, individually and within groups. I have provided both long and short-term treatments in the UK and abroad, in various organisations and institutions, including the voluntary sector and the NHS, as well as in private practice.
I am a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, registered with The British Psychoanalytic Council (registration number: 22120). I am also a group-work practitioner, trained at the Institute of Group Analysis, London. I hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Tel-Aviv University, where I have also trained in psychotherapy and group facilitation.
I am also a member of the Tavistock Society of Psychotherapists, a graduate member of The British Psychological Society (registration number: 411862) and a registered psychologist with the Israeli Ministry of Health (license no. 27-122497).
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
