About me
The aim of my work is to build a warm, trusting and confidential relationship and give you the time, space and support to find your own solutions to the difficulties you face. I work online and face to face. My therapy room is a welcoming space for you to make sense of whatever you are going through. I also have some availability for home visits.
As a fully qualified integrative counsellor, I use a person-centred approach, along with Gestalt therapy, creative techniques and CBT, to create a personalised approach for each client. This means that I am able to draw from different theories and techniques to help you to work in a way that suits you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and find ways to move forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience of working in a hospice environment, supporting people in their bereavement or whilst they are supporting loved ones who are seriously ill.
I have supported clients to understand the feelings associated with their anxiety and supported them to find ways to manage it and develop tools that they use now and in the future.
I have worked with a range of age groups, from young adults to elderly.
My qualifications are:
- Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling.
- PGCE (qualified teacher)
- BSc (hons) Psychology
- Advanced Diploma in Child Development.
- Masters Degree - specialising in adults with learning difficulties.
I am currently further studying a post graduate certificate in Complex Trauma (CCTP/CCTP11) and work voluntarily as a counsellor at the local hospice.
