About me

Hi, welcome to this page. There might be several reasons why you are looking to start therapy:

  • Maybe you feel stuck and don’t know how to overcome a difficult situation.
  • Or why the same things seem to be happening to you.
  • You might be wondering "what is wrong with me?"
  • Maybe you feel very sad and like you’re carrying heavy baggage.
  • Stress might be a bit too much and you wish you could stop the race inside you.
  • Maybe you just want to feel better.
  • Maybe you are not sure, but you feel that all is not ok.

And maybe all the above at the same time. Life can get hard and sometimes it seems the hard times have been going on for too long. But shift can happen too.

Change (and changing!) can feel very scary. But it is possible, and you don't have to do it alone. I believe it is important to be accompanied in making those changes. Adapting is what makes us survive, but sometimes we adapt in ways that are not good for us. I can be there with you in a journey of exploration of yourself and of ways you can feel better and flourish.

It can be very difficult to ask for help, even though asking for help is natural and necessary. There is always help available, we just need to discover where to find it. Therapy is very personal, and not one size fits all.

If something on this introduction resonated with you or made you curious, please get in touch. The first 20-minute chat is free. (If you message me, please check your spam folder as my reply may end up there).

You can also listen to an intro message in audio format on my website: www.fillyourcupcounselling.com

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold diplomas in both Transactional Analysis Counselling and Integrative Psychotherapy. Alongside my clinical training, I bring a rich background in communication and education that continues to inform and enhance my work as a psychotherapist.

I also have a Master's degree in Linguistics, with a particular focus on interactional and intercultural communication. Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked for several years as a language teacher (teaching both English and Italian), supporting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures in expressing themselves and connecting with others. Communication and language have always been central to my interests—not just as tools, but as windows into how people express themselves, experience and navigate the world.

My interest in mental health began early in life, though it took time for me to feel ready to pursue it professionally. When I eventually trained as a psychotherapist, I found that my previous academic work, teaching experience, and the perspective gained from living and working in a different country all contributed to a deeper understanding of people's inner experiences, relationship dynamics and behaviours. These experiences continue to enrich my practice and allow me to bring sensitivity, curiosity, and a culturally aware lens to the therapeutic relationship.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
