About me
I am a qualified, female counsellor, specialising in online counselling using Skype, Teams, or other messenger services or if preferred, telephone.
A face-to-face service is also available and for many people, it's preferable.
I also offer a fixed 6 or 10 week group of sessions for short term work at a lower rate.
I also run groups on mindfulness and meditation to empower individuals to cope with stress and anxiety. Please have a look at the website to find out more.
I abide by the BACP guidelines and have regular supervision as required by BACP. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about what I do.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am qualified with a BACP Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I specialise in a time unlimited model. In training I was required to complete over 150 hours of clinical work so through that and in the years since then, I have gained much experience in working with all kinds of issues including bereavement, trauma, anxiety, anger, depression, sexual identity and abuse. There is nothing that is 'off the table'. I believe in openness, honesty and the value in our simply being really human, no matter what that might look and feel like.
I have a background of teaching in mainstream education so am open to also working with younger adults and the problems that they may face. I also work with teaching professionals in that area and the stress they experience on a day-to-day.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
